The Easy Trail That Just Might Have The Prettiest Waterfall In Connecticut

">With so many magnificent waterfalls in Connecticut, it's tough to pick a favorite. What do you go with? The majestic enormity of our tallest waterfall, Kent Falls? The striking beauty of the lovely Enders Falls? There are so many to choose from! One of my personal favorites is the wonderful Chapman Falls at Devil's Hopyard State Park in East Haddam, CT. This is such a beautiful park, and the trail to reach the falls is a relatively easy 0.4-mile loop that won't take all day. The area has so much history in addition to its natural beauty, and it's really a fascinating place. Check out this waterfall trail in East Haddam, CT!

Devil's Hopyard State Park is one of our favorite state parks in Connecticut. The sprawling 1,000-acre park has a wide array of recreational opportunities to offer visitors, including a seasonal campground, areas for fishing, and some great biking trails.

It's also home to some of the best hikes in the state, and the one leading to the magnificent Chapman Falls is easily one of our favorite trails near East Haddam.

Chapman Falls is 60 feet in height and it's got a fascinating history. Urban legend says that Satan formed these falls by stomping on the boulders that lie underneath. It's also said that he often played his fiddle atop them.

Legends aside, these falls are quite beautiful, and the hike to reach them isn't very strenuous at all.

The Chapman Falls Loop is right around half a mile, and the views are amazing, especially if you head out after a rainfall.

This trail is definitely one for the bucket list!
