This Secluded Loop Trail In Connecticut Is Worthy Of An Adventure
There's endless trails in Connecticut - one of our favorite parts about the state is that there is simply so much land to explore on foot. Whether you're looking for beachfront strolls, easy loop paths around lakes, or lengthy treks through the woods, there's a lot of fun to be had here. If you're a fan of hiking in the Nutmeg State, you'll love the spot we're featuring today: the Cherry Grove Loop at Cherry Grove Preserve in Newtown, CT. This is an easy hike that the whole family can enjoy, and it's also not very well-known, meaning it's the perfect place to be alone with your thoughts in nature and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Check it out:
The Cherry Grove Loop stretches through about 2.1 miles through the preserve.
This is a great trail that can be enjoyed in any season. It's not a well-marked perfect circle, and you'll find that there are several off-shoot trails you can enjoy.
This is a particularly beautiful area in the spring months, when the grass is at its greenest and the flowers are in bloom.
You'll find a few benches placed along the route: don't they look like perfect spots for a warm-weather picnic?
This trail can get pretty muddy after heavy rains, so make sure you bring along appropriate footwear so you don't slip.
It's also worth noting that all that shade means lots of insects in the warm months, so don't forget insect repellent!
This is such a pretty trail to explore at any time of year, and it's one of our favorite hikes in Newtown, CT.
