The Quaint Winter Park, Colorado Is The Poster Child Of The Perfect Mountain Town

Winter Park, Colorado, offers year-round attractions from skiing and snowboarding in winter to hiking and festivals in summer.

If you are looking for a picturesque mountain town, Colorado is the place to be, as the Centennial State has everything from small and charming all the way up to ritzy and, well, expensive. While we happen to think that all of our mountain towns (and towns in general) are a must-visit, there is one mountain community that stands out as being the most perfect of all, which beautiful Winter Park:

Located in Grand County, Winter Park has been rightfully dubbed "Colorado's favorite playground," and for a good reason!

Founded in 1978, Winter Park is young in terms of mountain towns, but what it lacks in age it makes up for with some of the best attractions in the state.

As implied by its name, Winter Park is a winter wonderland, thanks to its incredible ski resort (the aptly named Winter Park Resort), close proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park, sleigh rides, ice skating, and so much more.

While Winter Park is famous for its skiing and snowboarding opportunities, there is plenty more to do in the warmer seasons as well, beginning with springtime hikes, wildflowers, and shopping and eating your way through downtown.

Are you planning on visiting during the summer? Everything happening in the springtime still applies, plus numerous festivals, concerts, kayaking, and fishing.

In the fall, there is no better place to be than Winter Park, as the surrounding area transforms into vibrant red, orange, and yellow hues that are ideal for an afternoon drive.
