If you're looking for a nice place for a long walk that isn't too far from Denver but also feels deep in the mountains, then you'll love Pine Valley Ranch Park in Pine. This county park is about an hour from downtown Denver and it's a beautiful drive all the way up. When you arrive, you'll be treated to a loop trail around a very nice lake, and can continue further on other connecting trails if you wish, too. Read on learn more about this park and your hike.
Pine Valley Ranch Park in Pine is 883 acres in size and has 5.8 trail miles within it.
This park may be small, but it's mighty! You'll love all the great things you get to see while visiting.
If you're looking for a long walk, then you'll want to hop on the Narrow Gauge Trail. It runs from one end of the park to the other, and a bit beyond the park boundary to the east.
It's an out and back trail, so it's not a loop - so you'll have to come back the same way you came.
There's also a loop trail around Pine Lake here also. It's only .5 miles in length, but you can add a loop around the lake to your Narrow Gauge Trail hike to make it a bit longer.
This trail is well-maintained and you'll love the vibe, ambiance, and environment all around you every step of the way.
You'll be able to enjoy some wooded areas.
There's also a good chance that you'll see some wildlife here.
You'll also probably see some anglers along the North Fork of the South Platte River.
Dogs are welcome here as long as they're on a leash. Your pup will love it, too!
