One Of The Most Beautiful Day Hikes In America Is Right Here In Southern California

Hiking in Southern California is always a good idea. The varied landscape of this region lends itself to some pretty epic hiking trails. You'll find many hiking trails to choose from, but it's hard to find one that's more scenic than Solstice Canyon. Here's more on why this gorgeous trail is considered to be one of the best hikes in Southern California.

The Solstice Canyon Loop is a 3.4-mile trail that offers some incredible views.

The trail is located near Malibu. From the Pacific Coast Highway, take Corral Canyon Road for about 1/4 mile.

You'll find the trailhead on Corral Canyon Road. There's free parking at the entrance, but get there early — it fills up on weekends.

Much of this trail is shaded by large trees.

You'll enjoy some stunning views of the ocean and the Pacific Coast Highway.

The mountain views are pretty breathtaking, too.

There's even a pretty little waterfall, depending on the amount of recent rainfall.

If you look closely, you'll see wildlife all along the way.

You'll pass by the Keller House. Built around the turn of the 20th century, it's the oldest stone building in Malibu, though much of it was destroyed in the 2007 Corral Canyon Fire.

Check out the homes across the canyon, sitting like little jewels perched on the side of the mountain.
