Even though it still feels like summer in most of Southern California, we can't wait to celebrate the fall season. And a trip to see this pumpkin extravaganza in SoCal is just what's needed to get ready for everyone's favorite time of year.

The fall season in Southern California always comes to life after a day trip to Descanso Gardens. With colorful leaves in warm autumn shades of orange, yellow, and brown, this is easily our favorite time of year.

Halloween at Descanso Gardens runs the entire month of October.

Stroll through Descanso Gardens and you'll find pumpkins on display in the most unexpected places. Resting on a park bench...

Floating in a pond...

And placed inside flower pots throughout the garden.

You'll find pumpkin mandalas in the Oak Grove, a pumpkin arch and a scarecrow in the Camelia Forest, and a hay maze and pumpkin house on the main lawn.

Tickets to Descanso Gardens range from $5 to $15 depending on the type of admission. Children under the age of five are free.
