Sometimes it can be a challenge to find fall foliage in Southern California, as you won’t find much in the cities! But just a short drive away will have you basking in the colorful autumn glory! Head to Oak Glen Preserve to experience some of the best fall foliage in our region.
Oak Glen Preserve Trail is a 1.8-mile loop that you in the Wildlands Conservancy of Oak Glen Preserve. It’s near Forest Falls and is generally considered an easy hike.
It’ll only take you about an hour to hike, but that’s more than enough when every sight is so pretty. September is the time when you’ll see the leaves starting to change. The way the sun hits them will make you stop and stare.
The brilliant autumn hues will be all over. Keep an eye out for the gorgeous yellow trees along this trail in the fall months. October is an excellent time to see all the natural beauty of the season.
You’ll also get some brilliant reds in the leaves as you walk along the path. Be sure you capture this special time on camera, because it doesn’t last very long around here!
When you run into the water on the trail, take a few minutes to admire the amazing double view you get. There’s nothing as beautiful as seeing the leaves in the trees and their reflection smiling back up at the sky.
You could even take a picnic lunch and sit while you admire the classic fall sight. You’ll feel like you’re in a storybook.
Oak Glen Preserve Trail is one of the best places to go for fall foliage in Southern California, and once you’ve been, you’ll want to make it an annual tradition. When it comes to fall hikes in our area, this one is a always a fantastic choice.
