This Easy Arkansas Hiking Trail Delivers Big Views for a Romantic Valentine’s Day

Ready for an unforgettable Valentine's Day adventure? Pack some chocolates and take your date on this romantic hiking trail in Arkansas.

Are you tired of the same Valentine’s Day routine year after year? You know, when you get dressed up and enjoy a candlelit dinner at that one fine dining restaurant that you’ve been to countless times. Well, if you are, we think it’s time to switch things up a bit and add a romantic adventure to your relationship. Don’t get me wrong, dinner is fine for Valentine’s Day, but how does a picnic with your special someone on top of the world sound?

If you’re ready to spice things up this year, then grab your partner and come with us to Yellow Rock in Devil’s Den State Park. Trust me, if you spend your day on this romantic hiking trail in Arkansas, you’re in for one unforgettable Valentine’s Day treat.

Arguably, Whitaker Point Trail (also known as Hawksbill Crag) might just be the most romantic spot in Arkansas. After all, so many folks have gotten engaged at this very location. While there is no doubt that the crag is truly breathtaking, it’s not the only destination in Arkansas with a romantic vibe. Another can be found inside Devil’s Den State Park in West Fork.

What I love the most about the Yellow Rock Trail is that it’s rewarding from beginning to end. This three-mile-long loop trail meanders through scenic forests, there are footbridges, towering rock formations, rock outcroppings, and hidden caves, and the views are unbelievable.

Plus, along the trail, there is a historic stone pavilion that was built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Here you can see views of the stunning valley below. It’s a great spot to sneak some kisses and snap several photos of you and your date.

But the highlight of the trek is the scenic overlook. It leads to a large, flat open area on top of a bluff with panoramic views of Lee Creek Valley. It’s one of the most romantic places in Arkansas. Between September through November, this spot is quite popular, but since you’re hiking in a colder month, you might have the overlook all to yourself.

This would be the perfect place for a romantic picnic, so be sure to pack a basket with chocolate-covered strawberries and a bottle of wine to enjoy. Depending on the weather, you’ll want to make sure that your feet are warm and you’re wearing a comfy winter coat. Also, it wouldn’t hurt to pack a cozy blanket in case it gets windy. You can enjoy some snuggles as you sit and admire the breathtaking views of the Boston Mountains.

The best time to plan this hike would be early in the morning, but on a clear day, nothing beats seeing Yellow Rock with a pretty sunset in the backdrop. Life gets no better than watching the sun go down from the top of the world with that special someone next to you. So, if you want to switch things up this year for Valentine’s Day, how about you take your partner on this romantic hiking trail in Arkansas? It will be a dreamy date you won’t soon forget.
