The Ozarks is a magical place with tons of hidden gems - from gorgeous rock formations to scenic overlooks, and not to mention some of the majestic waterfalls in Arkansas. And when you think you’ve witnessed them all, there’s always another treasure waiting to be explored. One such gem is High Bank Twin Falls, a stunning, little-known waterfall in Arkansas that is tucked away inside the Ozark National Forest. Grab your boots, and let’s trek this marvelous 0.5-mile trail that has one of the greatest rewards at the end.

From the name, you can guess that High Bank Twin Falls, located near the town of Pettigrew, is a double waterfall. The 70-foot cascades flowing over a towering cliff are truly a sight to behold.

Unlike some other waterfalls in the Ozarks, High Bank doesn’t flow all year long. So, the best time to explore these cascades is after a good rainfall.

Located off Highway 215, which meanders alongside the Mulberry River, you’ll enjoy the scenic drive as you approach the trailhead.

The 0.5-mile out-and-back trail is an easy trek for all hikers, which means it’s kid-friendly and the pup can embark on the trek as well. Be aware that the trailhead isn’t well marked, but Google Maps will take you straight to the path.

The area is really pretty and surrounded by a canopy of trees. And most of the trail is easy to follow and flat with very little elevation change.

However, you’ll encounter some down trees as well as rocky areas along the way. But have no fear, you’ll be able to easily maneuver around them.

One great thing about this marvelous trail is that it’s a hidden gem, so you won’t see many hikers in the area, if any at all.

This means you'll fully appreciate the gorgeous area and will bask in the sounds of nature while you trek.

And speaking of nature sounds, you’ll witness a serene creek as well as a tiny cascade flowing downstream.

You’ll want to pause to appreciate the tranquil scenery and fully immerse yourself into nature.

Once you get to the end of the trail, you’ll be rewarded in the most magical way. The majestic twin falls will be flowing over a towering cliff, cascading down the grotto before plunging into a pool below.

You’ll want to get closer to gain a different perspective of the falls, especially if the flow is abundant during the rainy season.

If the water isn’t flowing abundantly, the hike will still be worth it because the area is so gorgeous and peaceful.

After you’ve explored this little-known waterfall in Arkansas it will become your slice of nature heaven. You’ll want to hike this marvelous trail again and again to bask in the peace and serenity this Arkansas waterfall offers.
