For being one of the most metropolitan areas in the state, North Little Rock has a surprising number of natural getaways. One park in particular has unbelievably beautiful views and a trail that leads to the most breathtaking overlook. Let's take our cameras and check out this gorgeous park.
Emerald Park's trail begins modestly but leads to some pretty fantastic views.
The park is located along Marge Gardner Ln., North Little Rock, AR 72118.
The trail, which is gorgeous anytime of the year, is a moderate 5.3-mile hike.
Besides some of the spurs, the trail is paved and wheelchair friendly. Four-legged friends are also welcomed as long as they're on a leash.
Most all of the hike is uphill but the effort is definitely worthwhile.
Families can certainly enjoy the hike but be sure to monitor little ones once you've reached the bluffs.
All of the bluff points have breathtaking views.
Some of the scenery almost makes you feel like you're in a different state entirely...
...until you reach the stunning overlook of the city skyline.
You'll be able to look down into an old quarry...
...which is lovely from just about every angle.
Another overlook captures the Arkansas River perfectly.
Emerald Park certainly is a worthwhile gem to explore.
It's amazing how many beautiful places are in Arkansas' backyard.
