Hike Through An Enchanting Maple Grove On West Fork Trail In Arizona

While we may be more familiar with desert scenery, several large forests stretch across Arizona, creating expansive groves just waiting to be explored. One such place is West Fork Trail, characterized by towering maples that offer a spellbinding adventure year-round.

Nestled deep in the Red Rock Secret Mountain Wilderness, West Fork Trail is easily one of Arizona's most popular hikes.

It's about seven miles long, but easy enough for the whole family to embark on.

Fall is by far the most popular time to visit - and for good reason. Towering maple trees erupt in every autumn color imaginable, making for a positively spellbinding adventure.

Snow-covered rock walls and barren trees during the wintertime are hauntingly beautiful.

Frequent river crossings mean your feet will likely get wet, so be sure to wear sturdy boots.

A little dampness is absolutely worth it, considering the breathtaking hues throughout and massive creek at the end.

The entry fee to access Red Rock Secret Mountain Wilderness and the West For Trail costs $11 per vehicle.
