The Derrick Trail Will Show You A Completely New Side Of Arizona

Derrick Trail is one of the best hikes near Payson, Arizona and it will show you a unique and less traveled side of the state. This moderate trail features beautiful plants and amazing views. Derrick Trail is an out and back hike but can be extended. In the winter, you may even run across snow in these parts. Almost six miles long, Derrick Trail offers a good challenge without being too lengthy. The trail is pretty rocky so wear sturdy hiking boots and bring plenty of water!

You'll see giant agave next to tall pine trees.
