How does an afternoon sitting on a white sand beach sound? Just imagine that breeze blowing through your hair, the sounds of water a short distance away, and the glimmering, white sand beneath your feet. Sounds heavenly, doesn’t it? You don’t have to travel to some far off, exotic location to find those white sandy beaches. In fact, you can find just a short drive away right here in Arizona. Let’s check out the Lake Havasu beach in Arizona!
This is Lake Havasu State Park, which sits right along the banks of its namesake lake and is one of the most popular state parks in Arizona.
Windsor Beach, the name of the beach and campsite at Lake Havasu, has been transforming into that very same exotic location you were probably imaging at the start of this article! Not only will you find a vast lapping lake but also some of the whitest sand you’ll find in Arizona!
In 2012, Lake Havasu State Park and Cattail Cove received a generous helping of white sand in an effort to improve the parks’ appearances and invite more visitors to the area.
The special sand comes from our neighbor Nevada and is a little denser and heavier so that it is less likely to blow or wash away.
You'll find the white sand layered along the shores of the lake, creating an inviting atmosphere for swimmers, boaters, and campers through out the year.
Now, imagine spending a few vacation hours here, watching the sunset on the lake with your favorite drink in hand. Sounds like the perfect way to end a day, doesn't it?
Windsor Beach sits in the Lake Havasu State Park, located at 699 London Bridge Road in Lake Havasu City. You can find details and ideas of what to do at Lake Havasu in Arizona by visiting the Arizona State Park website.
