Pumpkin spice is great and all, but there's another fall flavor that doesn't get nearly the amount of recognition it deserves: apple cider. Made with freshly picked apples, the apple cider donuts from Apple Annie's Orchard in Wilcox are a classic autumn treat. They're perfect for enjoying while you stroll through the pumpkin patch or admire the changing leaves.
Fall in Arizona means changing leaves, lower temperatures, and - most importantly - tons of festivities at Apple Annie's Orchard in Wilcox.
A seasonal pick-your-own fruit and vegetable farm, the orchard embraces all things autumn in September and October with a pumpkin patch, corn maze, and all sorts of other activities for all ages.
The 40-acre pumpkin patch boasts pumpkins and gourds of every shape, color, and size imaginable, with some fitting in the palm of your hand and others weighing in at over 100 pounds.
Bring a wheelbarrow and meander through the fields in search of the perfect pumpkin to carve and display on your front porch. There's also a large selection of pumpkins that are already picked, so even if you're short on time, nobody has to leave empty-handed.
You can also pick your own apples, with nearly a dozen varieties available between late July and late October.
October apples include Fuji, Granny Smith, and Pink Lady.
Arizona's largest corn maze can be found here, spanning a mind-boggling 20 acres.
There are two levels of difficulty, and trivia questions throughout the maze help guide you to the exit - when answered correctly, of course!
Let's not forget one of the very best things about fall: the treats!
Apple Annie's uses freshly picked apples from their very own orchard to make the best apple cider donuts you've ever tasted. Soft as a pillow and perfectly spiced, these delicious donuts will send you straight to dessert heaven.
Also worth mentioning are the caramel apples, which strike a perfect balance between sweet and tart.
How cute are the fall colored sprinkles on the bottom?
If it happens to be a slightly warmer day, you'll definitely want to sip on an apple cider slushie while you stroll through the orchard.
Like fall in a cup, the cozy beverage will warm your heart - despite being chilled!
Don't forget to peruse the vast array of autumn trinkets and home décor in the Country Store.
You're bound to find something to make your home just a little bit more festive.
So if you're ready to feel the fallen leaves crunch beneath your feet and indulge in the flavors of the season, head on over to Apple Annie's Orchard.
