The Reindeer Farm Pumpkin Patch in Alaska Is a Classic Fall Tradition

The Reindeer Farm Pumpkin Patch in Palmer offers a fun-filled fall festival with reindeer, pumpkin picking, and various family activities.

What are your favorite fall traditions? For me, both apple picking and visiting a pumpkin patch are the first things that come to mind. While many don't expect the Last Frontier to celebrate fall in a spectacular way, that couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, the Williams Reindeer Farm in Palmer hosts a fall festival featuring a pumpkin patch, and it's a highlight of autumn fun! Take the whole family and enjoy a day of fall festivities, including tractor rides, a hay maze, and more, while hanging out with reindeer and pumpkin picking. Attending this fall festival in Alaska will surely be the highlight of the season!

Every year, the Reindeer Farm Fall Festival takes place on Saturdays, as well as a couple of Fridays, in October. Grab your tickets for the chance to hang out with the reindeer and pick pumpkins in the pumpkin patch in the shadow of Pioneer Peak. Spend the day in your Halloween costume to really get into the feel of the festivities!

There are so many awesome things for everyone in the family to enjoy, including tractor-pulled wagon rides, horse-drawn wagon rides, pony rides for ages 10 and under, reindeer train rides, and petting and photos with the reindeer. Families can also enjoy face painting, a variety of delicious food, and groove to live music.

There's also an incredible hay maze you can wander through and get lost. Hay bales will also be dressed as fun characters, delighting all the children in attendance. Another extremely popular attraction is "Spooky Walk," a child-friendly haunted house. Take a walk through the barn, decorated with fun and spooky Halloween decorations. There are numerous fantastic photo opportunities throughout the farm during this fall festival, and the farm has even set up areas for the perfect family photo.

If you're hungry during the event, numerous food trucks will be on site to provide excellent meals for lunch. And if you need a caffeine fix or a treat, drop by the Barrista Hut for an espresso or a hot chocolate.

The best part of this fall festival in Alaska is, of course, hanging out with the reindeer and picking out a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch on a gorgeous fall day! Tickets for this seasonal event in Palmer, Alaska, are $15 per person (ages three and older) and include admission to the attractions. The pumpkins are only $15.00 when you purchase a ticket to the festival. Otherwise, they are sold at full price, $20.00.

The 2025 Fall Family Fun Event at Williams Reindeer Farm will take place every Saturday in October, plus two Fridays — October 10th and 17th — starting at 10 a.m. Purchase tickets for a specific time slot online in advance. Tickets sell out fast, so keep that in mind.
