Visit the Kroschel Wildlife Center in Haines, Alaska, to see and interact with a variety of rescued Alaskan animals.

One of the most amazing things about Alaska is the wildlife that we enjoy every day. While we often spot moose, elk, and even bears in the wild, we don't typically get up close to them. Visit the Kroschel Wildlife Center for an opportunity to see moose up close - along with bears, wolves, foxes and other animals.

You'll find the Kroschel Wildlife Center in Haines, Alaska. To get there, take the Haines Highway to Mosquito Lake Road. In 1.8 miles, you'll see the signs for the wildlife center.

The center is surrounded by Alaska's natural beauty, and its home to many animals who have been orphaned, injured or rescued.

You'll see more than 15 species of Alaskan animals here, but the moose are definitely a favorite.

You'll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with them.

You can even feed a moose a carrot...while giving him a kiss.

Speaking of kisses...check out this wolverine!

Other animals that you can see up close include foxes and porcupine.

When's the last time you petted a porcupine?

Some of the animals who live at the Korschel Wildlife Center need a little more personal space. You can still enjoy a visit with Kitty the Grizzly...

...Lennox the Lynx...

...or Isis the wolf. You'll just visit these magnificent creatures from a bit farther away.

The owner of the wildlife center, Steve Kroschel, is a naturalist and filmmaker who has dedicated his life to caring for these animals and educating the public about them. You'll definitely want to pay a visit to this beautiful sanctuary to say hello to him and meet the animals he cares for.
