Hike Into The Clouds On The Mount Healy Overlook Trail In Alaska’s Denali National Park

If you’re looking for a trail that will take your head up into the clouds, the Mount Healy Overlook Trail in Alaska is the perfect place to go. Located inside Denali National Park, this epic hike is a gorgeous place to explore. Plan for plenty of time at the top to soak in those incredible views.

There’s a hike in Denali National Park that brings you right up into the clouds.

Standing at an imposing 5,761 feet, this mountain towers above the surrounding landscape. The views stretch for miles, including impressive views of Denali on a clear day.

This hike is considered a moderately challenging hike, mostly because of the climb.

You’ll start at the Visitor’s Center and hike to the summit, reaching a little more than seven miles round trip. The elevation gain along the hike is 2,483, but you’ll hike it in switchbacks which makes the climb a little easier.

The trail is well maintained and mostly easy to follow until you reach the overlook.

The trail to the summit from the overlook is a little less maintained, but the trek is worth it. That’s where you’ll find unparalleled views.

Once you get to the top, take a look around at the surrounding Alaska Range.

Even though the views start kicking in about 3/4 of the way up the trail, nothing beats the sweeping panoramic views from the summit. It’s worth hitting the top!

This trail is perfect to do all year long.

Whether you’re watching the leaves change, hiking through the sun, or coming up for a view of the midnight sun, this is the spot. It’s a popular place for anyone who visits this area.

There is a fee to enter, as it’s located within Denali National Park.

Kids ages 15 and under are free to visit. Adults 16 and older must pay a $15.00 entrance fee, although the pass is good for seven days.
