There is an entrance fee to visit Cheaha State Park and a $3 USFS Parking Fee to park at the Lake Chinnabee Recreation Area Parking lot. As always, be safe if you plan on swimming in the water, watch for slippery surfaces, and keep an eye on children at all times if they are with you.

How To Get to Devil's Den Falls

To get to these falls, head to Cheaha State Park, found on 19644 Hwy. 281 in Delta. From there, you'll go west on Cheaha Road for about half a mile and continue onto State Route 281 for a mile, continuing straight onto Cheaha Road for another half mile. You'll turn left on Lake Chinnabee Road, which will lead to a hiking area within one mile. After you park at the Lake Chinnabee Recreation Area Parking lot, you can make the short half-mile or so hike to the falls as you walk along the upstream portion of the Chinnabee Silent Trail.

If you prefer a longer hike, you can take the full Chinnabee Silent Trail, starting at the Turnipseed Campground. This longer, out-and-back hike will first take you to Cheaha Falls, which also has a decent-sized pool below, then to Devil's Den. You can stop and turn around here after cooling off, or continue to where the trail ends at a picturesque view of Lake Chinnabee before heading back the way you came. This longer trail is a great choice for anyone who loves chasing Alabama waterfalls.
