Oak Mountain State Park, which was established in 1927, is located in Pelham. Covering 11,584 acres, it's the largest state park in Alabama.

Note: Oak Mountain State Park was 9,940 acres before it was recently expanded to 11,584 acres.

This sprawling state park offers a variety of features for anyone who loves the outdoors, including more than 50 miles of scenic trails.

Regarding trails, Oak Mountain State Park is also home to some of the state's best mountain biking trails.

One of the most beautiful features of Oak Mountain State Park is Peavine Falls. This hidden waterfall can be reached via the Peavine Falls Trail, and it plunges approximately 65 feet into the water below.
