The Pizza At This Jailhouse Restaurant In Montana Is So Good It’s Criminal
If you’ve ever been to the
Old Montana Prison Complex in Deer Lodge, you know it’s easy to spend half a day exploring. This means you’ll almost certainly be hungry when you finish — and that’s a good thing, because Prison Pizza is right next door, ready to serve you a piping hot pie.
Prison Pizza is located at 818 Main Street in Deer Lodge.
They're open daily from 11-2 and from 5-11 p.m., except Sundays, when they'e open from 5-11 only.
Inside you'll find a counter for ordering, tables and chairs for enjoying, and a fully stocked salad bar.
The space is cozy and welcoming, as any pizzeria should be.
The pizza here is made from scratch-made dough that is prepared fresh daily, and it's absolutely scrumptious...
...plus, some of the pizzas have some awesome (and appropriate) names.
This is the Life Sentence with pepperoni added. Other creative options include the Electric Chair, the Warden and the Cell Block.
If you're not in the mood for pizza (or you're just incredibly hungry), you can order the soup of the day with your trip to the salad bar...
... but no matter what, we highly recommend saving room for a milkshake.
The shakes here are to die for.
The pizzas come in 12 and 16 inch sizes, and you can always create your own combination.
And as you might suspect, it's delicious for leftover lunches.
If you enjoy good old-fashioned hearty, greasy, made-from-scratch pizza, give
Prison Pizza a try. Add it to your Montana pizza bucket list.
