Montana has some pretty impressive waterfall hikes, but many of them require a lot of time or effort to complete, and if you’re running low on energy or you’re hiking with little ones, they may not sound very appealing.

The Natural Bridge Falls day-use area is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon, taking in the stunning scenery and enjoying a picnic with the family. Best of all, this entire trek is only about 0.7 miles out and back.

Natural Bridge Falls & Picnic Area is located in Sweet Grass County, about 25 miles from Big Timber and just a few minutes away from McLeod.

And no matter which route you take, the road to reach it will have some impressive views.
This recreation area is named after a gravity-defying limestone arch that once spanned the river just above the falls.

Unfortunately, the natural bridge collapsed (due to limestone’s easy erodability) in 1988. However, there's still plenty to see here.
The trail splits two ways, and you'll want to veer left for the shorter route.
