You’ll Be Pleased To Hear That Montana’s Upcoming Winter Is Supposed To Be More Mild Than Last Year’s
The concept of a “mild winter” in Montana is pretty laughable. While some areas definitely seem to get hit worse than others (like poor Cooke City), there’s not one county that’s exempt from winter weather — in fact, some regions have already seen snow.
But according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, this year’s winter in the Treasure State shouldn’t be too bad, at least compared to winters of the past.
We can definitely expect the white powder — in fact, the area has seen some flurries already. The snowfall won't break any records, but there will be enough to enjoy.
The coldest periods will be in late November, and late December, early and late January, and mid-February.
The Old Farmer's Almanac indicates it will be a wet winter for Western Montana. However, it also looks like we'll get our first big snowstorm here in late October, so you may want to choose a cozy Halloween costume this year.
The southern part of the state will see a lower than average snowfall.
Still, a somewhat mild winter would give Montanans more of an opportunity to get out and explore. Because one thing is certain: our winters are absolutely gorgeous.
