These 10 Missouri Towns Might Be Tiny But Their Restaurants Are Fantastic
You don’t necessarily have to head into the big city for amazing food. In fact, I’d say these small towns hold their own when it comes to delicious dining compared to the likes of Kansas City and St. Louis. There also tends to be more of a local feel as you’ll run into fewer tourists at these places.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here:
1. The Dough Depot - Kimmswick
The population of Kimmswick is less than 200 people, but when it comes to delicious restaurants, they're not messing around. The Dough Depot serves sandwiches and burgers on amazing pretzel buns, which makes it a game changer for sure.
216 Market St.
Kimmswick, MO 63028
2. Sebree's Restaurant - Mountain Top
Chef Brian Boultinghouse creates amazing dishes using locally raised and processed pork and beef. So not only will you be supporting a local business owner, but local farmers as well.
202 US Hwy 63 Greentop, MO 63546
3. Catalpa - Arrow Rock
Catalpa is regularly featured in Feast Magazine and was most recently awarded Restaurant of The Year for 2015. Not to mention, they are also home to 2015's Chef of The Year. Due to limited seating and high demand, make sure to call ahead and secure a reservation beforehand.
510 High St.
Arrow Rock, MO 65320
4. J. Gilbert's - Des Peres
If you're craving a hearty steak or some 5-star salmon, head on over to J. GIlberts in Des Peres. I guarantee that you won't regret treating yourself on this one.

This pizza and sub shop may sound simple enough, but they really go out of their way to go above and beyond when serving these classic favorites.

Marshfield, MO 65706
6. Justus Drugstore - Smithville
Don't let the name fool you. This drug store is actually a full-service restaurant that serves mouthwatering farm-to-table New American delicacies.

7. LeMaire's Seafood - Sedalia
For some of the best fried catfish in the state, head on over to LeMaire's in Sedalia.

The Vineyards Restaurant may look homey on the inside, but on the inside they serve up some pretty fancy, bistro dishes.

The Cove has the laid back perks of being a bar, but with the high quality food you'd find in a fancier restaurant.
