The Adorably Rustic Cabin Restaurant In Missouri That Serves Delicious Food
While there are plenty of gorgeous cabins to spend the night in, it’s pretty rare to find one that offers a full-service restaurant. Lucky for us, there’s a special place less than 25 minutes away from St. Louis that does just that. Today, we travel to Kimmswick, Missouri to find this amazing restaurant. The population of Kimmswick is just under 200 people, but their scenic location along the Mississippi River and great dining options make it a popular destination among tourists.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. Port of Call Restaurant & lounge is set inside a refurbished home that dates back to 1772. Throughout the years, this Revolutionary War-era home has served as a trading post, tavern, farmhouse and curio shop. It's believed that while it was a tavern, General Ulysses S. Grant often frequented it with other officers.

The Delta Queen steamboat first sailed the seas in 1927. Its headquarters was recently re-located to Kimmswick, with the hope to restore it to its natural glory and have it serve as a cruise ship. To raise awareness and support for this project, Port of Call Restaurant and Lounge was conceived and centers around the steamboat as the main theme of the restaurant.
