Exploring Missouri on foot means we get to see a lot more than we would if we’re in the car or even on a bike. However, Missouri State Parks also hosts a variety of guided hikes throughout the year that are worth checking out. Several guided bison hikes, for example, are planned at Prairie State Park in Missouri.
Mark your calendar for one of the Guided Bison Saunters, slated one day a month throughout the year, at Prairie State Park in Mindenmines.
Wear a comfy pair of shoes for the two-mile journey, because you’ll be on your feet for around two hours. You’ll also have to deal with some uneven terrain, so keep an eye on where you’re going, too.
That means you might have to walk a bit further to see them. Missouri State Parks recommends bringing a sufficient amount of water and snacks to help keep your energy up.
