Spend The Day Exploring Dozens Of Waterfalls In Mississippi’s Clark Creek Natural Area
Waterfalls are far and few between here in Mississippi. However, there is one place they exist in abundance, and it’s Clark Creek Natural Area. Like something from another world, the natural area is brimming with dozens of waterfalls – and that’s in addition to other rare sights, like boulders and other big rock formations.

It’s the only place in the state you’ll find such a high concentration of waterfalls.

As an added bonus, some of the cascades create shallow pools, which make perfect swimming holes.

Though a far cry from Niagara Falls, the waterfalls in Clark Creek Natural Area are stunning nonetheless.

As you can see from the map, most of the falls are situated along the park’s primitive and improved trails. Not all of the cascades are so easy to access, though. Take note of the waterfalls scattered about the map.

It actually boasts several other rare sights.

An oasis like no other, the natural area is filled with steeply sloping bluffs, trees and flora uncommon to the state, and moss-covered boulders.

First, the natural area is extremely remote, which means medical assistance is a long way off, so it's important to use caution when exploring the waterfalls. Second, make sure to bring along water, especially during the hot days of summer.
