The Lights Festival Is A Sky Lantern Fest In Mississippi That’s A Night Of Pure Magic

There’s nothing quite as magical as a sky filled with hundreds of glowing lanterns. Luckily, you don’t have to take our word for it. Simply mark your calendar for the upcoming Lights Festival, and you can see the enchanting sight for yourself. Take a look:

The New Orleans Lights Festival will take place on December 7, 2019, at the Hancock County Fairgrounds in Kiln, MS.

The event is put on by a company called The Lights, which holds sky lantern festivals all over the world – from Mexico to Singapore.

During the festival, hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of attendees simultaneously light sky lanterns and let them take flight, making for a truly unforgettable experience.

Worried about what happens to the lanterns once they return to the Earth? Don’t be. A clean-up crew gathers all the lanterns after the festival.

Entry to the fest is $39 - $55 for adults (ages 13 and up). The admission cost includes a sky lantern and marker, so you can personalize your lantern with pictures, text, or anything else you can think of.

When attending The Lights Festival, there are a few things you should keep in mind. For one, it’s outside, so you should dress warmly or bring along a jacket or sweater.

There’s more to the festival than glowing lanterns, though.
