Do you consider yourself an expert on crawfish? If so, your knowledge will be put to good use at the Crawfish Music Festival, specifically the Crawfish Cook-Off portion of the event. For just $12, you can sample hot boiled crawfish prepared by some of the best cooks in the state. The fun doesn’t end with the crawfish, though. There’s also live music and rides. Take a look:
Heading into its 28th year, the 2020 Crawfish Music Festival will take place April 15th – 19th, on the front grounds of the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi.
It’s open 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 1 p.m. – 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Only growing in popularity since its start, the festival brings about 30,000 people to Biloxi each year – and for good reason. The annual celebration includes live music, vendors, a beer garden, thrilling rides, and…
… piping hot, perfectly seasoned boiled crawfish. Just how much crawfish? During the course of the festival, over 20,000 pounds of crawfish are served!
At the festival, you can buy crawfish, along with your favorite fixings, by the platter. Or, to really get your fill, attend the festival’s Crawfish Cook-Off, which is on April 18th.
About 30 teams from all around the coast take part in the cook-off. And for just $12, you can sample the hot, boiled crawfish conjured up the competing teams.
In addition to bragging rights, winners of the Crawfish Cook-Off are awarded a trophy, which is hilariously comprised of a crawfish boiling pot and Budweiser cans.
It’s not just crawfish attendees can fill up on, though. A variety of local eateries will be on hand, serving up tasty favorites as well as signature creations.
Remember, the festival is scheduled for April 15 – 19, 2020, and the Crawfish Cook-Off is on April 18th. For more information, call (800) 726-2781 or (228) 594-3700. You can also visit the Mississippi Coast Coliseum website or Facebook page.
