This Waterfall Swimming Hole In Mississippi Is Perfect For A Summer Day
Looking for the perfect place to cool off this summer? Then you’ll definitely want to check out Dunn’s Falls Water Park in Enterprise. Hidden in the hills along the Chunky River, the secluded water park is ideal for all sorts of water activities and even has a waterfall.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

The park’s other amenities include picnic tables, grills, and primitive campsites, making it perfect for a quick summer getaway.

The waterfall was created in 1850 by Irish immigrant John Dunn in order to power a grist mill. Although it’s not the original, an authentic 1857 grist mill has been reconstructed at the site of Dunn’s original mill. Visitors to the park can take a step back in time and tour the historic grist mill.

The area directly below the waterfall isn’t too deep, making it perfect for swimmers of all ages and skill levels.

Paddle boats are available for rent at the park. For canoe rentals, check out Chunky River Canoe and Kayak Rentals.

Rated as “easy,” the 3-mile loop trail follows the banks of the Chunky River, includes a suspended overlook, and eventually winds around a pond and the waterfall, offering some exceptional views of the park’s breathtaking scenery. The 69-acre park is also a wildlife refuge, which means wildlife sightings are a real possible.
Visit Dunn’s Falls Waterpark at 6890 Dunn’s Falls Road in Enterprise on Wednesday – Sunday, from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, May through September. For more information, head to the Dunn’s Falls website.
