Have you ever been to Itasca State Park? This northern Minnesota park is home to the headwaters of the Mississippi River, making it a popular place to go for those who would like to take part in the tradition of walking across the river. The park is especially popular in the summer months thanks to its hiking trails, campsites, fire tower, and other wonderful attractions. Itasca State Park is a 32,000-acre state park in northern Minnesota. It's about 30 miles south of Bemidji, or 215 miles north of the Twin Cities. The park is beautiful throughout the year, but winter brings a special kind of beauty.

As soon as you pull into the park, you'll find a snow-covered oasis. The road, lined with trees, feels like the gateway to a winter wonderland.

After you park, it's time to explore the park's many hiking trails! There are more than 40 miles of hiking trails through the park, as well as 13 miles of snowshoeing trails and 31 miles of snowmobile trails.
