The Fish-Shaped Restaurant In Minnesota That Hints At The Deliciousness Inside
Big Fish Supper Club in Minnesota is a fish-shaped restaurant known for its fresh fish dishes and cozy North Woods atmosphere.
Most of the quirkiest restaurants in Minnesota have quite the following. In Minneapolis, Betty Danger's and Psycho Suzi's stand out as funky themed restaurants. Just outside of the Twin Cities, the Choo Choo Restaurant & Bar is a train-themed restaurant that's fun for the whole family. And much further west, the Whistle Stop Diner is actually built inside of a retired train car. But there are plenty of other whimsical eateries all across the state. One of our favorites is the Big Fish Supper Club. Read on to learn all about this fish-shaped restaurant - and the delicious food it serves.
Big Fish Supper Club was first made famous when it appeared in the opening credits of National Lampoon's Vacation. That was nearly 30 years ago, and it still stands at 456 US Highway 2, Bena, MN 56626.
The restaurant is known for the 60-foot-long muskie on its property. While muskie isn't exactly the most appetizing fish, it is a hint at the great, fresh fish served inside.
Located in northern Minnesota, on the shores of Lake Winnibigoshish, this spot has easy access to fresh fish from the thousands of nearby lakes.
The dining area has moved out of the fish in the 60 years since it opened, but it's as cozy as ever inside. The wood touches give it a true North Woods feel.
Small but cozy, this dining room has served more than a few delicious meals over the years.
In true supper club fashion, prime rib and perfectly cooked steaks are on the menu.
The broasted chicken is also delicious. Served with generous sides, it's the thing to get if you arrive with an appetite.
But it's the walleye that many customers rave about. Perfectly flaky and absolutely delicious, this is one meal that makes this fish-shaped restaurant worth traveling to!
