1. Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston

Better known locally as Mass. General or MGH, this is the best hospital in the nation. U.S. News ranked the Boston hospital as #1 in its list of "Best Hospitals" for 2015 and 2016. In 2015, U.S. News also ranked MGH as the #1 pediatric hospital in the country. MGH placed in the top three for diabetes, ear, nose & throat, gastroenterology & GI surgery, neurology & neurosurgery, and psychiatry.

2. Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston

Established in 1913, this is another shining star in the Massachusetts healthcare arena. 5. Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis

If you’re down on the Cape, this hospital is your best bet for comprehensive healthcare. It is one of the best cardiac care hospitals in the country, and U.S. News ranked CCH as high performing in the areas of COPD, heart bypass surgery, and heart failure care.

6. Beverly Hospital, Beverly

Beverly Hospital is ranked sixth in Massachusetts and has demonstrated high performance in the areas of heart failure care, hip replacement, and knee replacement. It has 320 beds and a dedicated trauma center.
