This Decaying Mid-Atlantic Motel Is An Eerie Snapshot Of The Past

An abandoned motel in Newbury, Maryland, retains much of its original decor and gives off creepy vibes.

Motels have a reputation for being seedy places, and this abandoned mid-atlantic motel definitely gives off some creepy vibes. YouTube channel "This is Dan Bell" gives us an inside look at the way this "dead motel" has decayed over the years. The White House Motel (later called the Shine Inn) is located in Newbury, Maryland, near the Virginia border.

It opened in the summer of 1953, and much of the original decor has been left behind. It was abandoned in 2010.

This old motel is remarkably free of vandalism. Everything has been left to decay in place.

There’s still laundry in the washing machines, folded linens in the closets and glasses on the shelves.

Many of the beds are still made up, as if waiting for the next guest.
