We think waterfalls in Maine are the best in the country! But, with so many Maine waterfalls to choose from, which is the best here? The answer is: we have no answer. How could we possibly tell you which is the best when they’re all so perfect? But, we CAN tell you which one feels like a little bit of heaven. We’re sure you all have your own favorite waterfall trip, but this one is ours right now: Houston Brook Falls.

The area is wonderful for a full day. Make sure to pack a swimsuit, sunscreen and snacks. The walk back is just as simple as the way in - a nice, easy out and back route.
Head to the Wyman Lake recreation area to take this trip. The trail is about a mile past the Wyman Lake area on the right.
It's not marked, but it's a fairly easy to follow path. And, you'll be able to hear the waterfall as you walk which is helpful and will probably make you move just a little bit faster.
