Escape The Entire World On The Secluded Mountain Loop Trail In Maine
These days it’s understandable if you want to get away and gain some clarity and peace of mind. Lucky for us that being in Maine makes this easy. There are lots of ways to be calm here, from road trips to walks to simply looking out the window and appreciating the world outside. But, of course, one of the best ways to escape the world is by heading out on a quiet trail. Try this one!
The Mountain Loop trail can be found in Oakland, near Waterville, and it offers lots of beautiful forest views along with some scenic views over nearby water.
Some consider this simply a walk through the woods, but we love some of the trails connected to the Mountain Loop lead to a steep overlook that takes in both Long Pond and Great Pond.
Although, in the winter, you're likely to find parts of the trail nicely packed due to snowmobiles. However, some areas will require some trudging through the snow. A great adventure if you're into that kind of thing!
Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
