The Olde Post Office Cafe In A Small Town Post Office In Maine Will Charm Your Taste Buds
We already know that Maine has some of the most adorable small towns in America, but it feels like a bonus when these little places also have adorable hidden gems. This one is housed in an old post office, which was once a community meeting place for those who called the town home. Today, you can stop in for a delicious meal while enjoying time with friends.
The Olde Post Office Cafe is housed inside a former post office building that spent most of its years as a local general store.
The current owners lovingly restored it into the cafe it is today and we think it's one of the most lovely places in the state to enjoy some time with a good meal.
While everything is good, we love the fresh-pressed sandwiches like the Spicy Sophia featuring salami, capicola, pepperoni,
tomato, red onion, provolone and chipotle mayo on sourdough.
Dinner includes things like the lobster cobb salad, pulled pork sliders and even a seared tuna taco. The one pictured here is deconstructed, which also shows how well they cater to individual tastes.
The Olde Post Office Cafe is open 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday through Sunday. After closing at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, they’re open again for dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. They’re closed on Tuesday. You can learn more about them here or visit them on Facebook. They can be reached on 207-293-4978.
Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
