Did you know that Maine has more coastline than California? It’s a remarkable fact that you’ll just need to experience for yourself. One of the best ways to do so is by embarking on our road trip that will take you to Maine’s most beautiful beaches. The ones we’ve uncovered on this particular road trip are also tucked away off the beaten path, so you can avoid the crowds and enjoy the waves to yourself. First up on the itinerary is Laudholm Beach in Wells. To reach this beautiful beach, you’ll need to make your way through the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve. This little stretch of beach will be virtually empty, so you can enjoy the spectacular scenery in peace and quiet. Next up is Seawall Beach in Phippsburg. It’s a difficult beach to reach; however, you’ll be rewarded with stunning, pristine views. The beach is located over Morse Mountain, so if you plan on visiting, you’ll need to hike approximately one mile first.
