This Swimming Spot Has The Clearest, Most Pristine Water In Louisiana
With all of this heat, we know that you are looking for an amazing way to cool off this summer. Here at Only in Louisiana, we have just the place for you. We’ve found the swimming spot in Louisiana that has the clearest, most pristine water in Louisiana: Kisatchie Bayou. This idyllic spot is going to have you packing up your car for a trip right now.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

You can find Kisatchie Bayou within the Kisatchie Ranger District in Central Louisiana. It's located off of the Longleaf Trail Scenic Byway, you will then see the Bayou Camp sign, to turn east on FH 59. From FH 59, turn south onto Forest Road 321 until you reach the end of Forest Road 366. The last stretch there is a dirt road, and there is some parking areas near the bayou.

There are some unique landforms here, including moving water rapids through the summer--rare in Louisiana.

The beach here is truly a hidden gem.

Over the years, people have moved stones to create a "jacuzzi" area to lounge in.

This is technically allowed, but I won't tell anyone if you don't.

We know you are going to fall in love with it as much as we have.
Doesn’t this place look amazing? We think it’s one of the best places to go swimming in all of Louisiana. Let us know if you have been there before. And if you’re looking for more swimming spots in Louisiana, check out our article on swimming holes here.
