Louisiana has 21 state parks, each one more beautiful than the next. This scenic park located in the northern part of the state, features a little something for everyone. So pack up the family and venture off to this incredibly scenic state park for an unforgettable adventure.
Tucked away in the piney hills of Union Parish, Lake D’Arbonne State Park is the perfect place to retreat to when you need to immerse yourself in nature for a couple of days.
Lake D’Arbonne State Park is located at 3628 Evergreen Rd., Farmerville, LA 71241.
One of the main attractions to the 655-acre park is its namesake, Lake D’Arbonne.
The 15,250-acre lake attracts visitors from all over looking to do some fishing, water skiing, and boating.
The pier provides the perfect spot to bring the family out and have a friendly competition of "who can catch dinner."
The lake is full of bass, catfish, crappie, and many other species of fish.
In the evenings, the sunsets over the lake are simply mesmerizing.
Sit out on the dock with your favorite beverage and prepare to be captivated by the symphony of sounds from the wildlife in the area while you watch the sunset.
If you’re bringing your RV, there are multiple sites for you to park in.
You'll be surrounded by a canopy of tall pines and beautifully scenic views.
If you prefer to unwind in a cabin, don’t worry, they’ve got you covered. There are 16 cabins and two deluxe lodges at the park, so no matter how big or small your party is, they can accommodate you.
The deluxe cabins will sleep up to eight people and the deluxe lodges can sleep up to 14. These rustic cabins come with everything you’ll need during your stay. Just bring some food (or catch your dinner in the lake) and you’re good to go.
There are several trails that meander through the park.
The trails attract many cycling enthusiasts, who enjoy the challenge of traversing the rolling hills that Northern Louisiana has to offer. Even if you’re on foot, these trails do not disappoint.
In the summer months, the pool is a nice retreat to beat the heat.
The pool won't be open until Memorial Day, but in the meantime, you can always rent a canoe or a paddle boat to explore the lake or try your skills at their impressive disc golf course.
