Tucked away on the Mandeville Lakefront, Rips on the Lake has been a Northshore favorite for more than 80 years.
After hurricane Katrina, it was completely gutted and rebuilt better than ever.
The outside patio has some truly impressive views of Lake Pontchartrain.
Rips is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday. Dinners are ideal because of the phenomenal sunsets views over the water.
From hearty pasta dishes to Cajun and Creole entrees, the menu features a little something for everyone.
And of course, plenty of fish dishes. Choose from fresh snapper, pan-fried trout, pan-seared mahi mahi, and several others.
If you’re a fried seafood lover, they’ve got some of the most incredible fried seafood platters including catfish, shrimp, oysters, or a combination of any of the three!
After your meal, be sure to take a stroll down the lakefront. The sounds of the waves crashing against the seawall, the breeze in your hair, and a beautiful sunset over the lake is a picture-perfect way to spend an evening.
