I am not going to lie--brunch is one of my absolute favorite meals of the day. I absolutely love having a big meal at the start of the day, and luckily there are some awesome places in New Orleans that will more than fit the bill. Here are your best bets from around the city.

1) Ruby Slipper Cafe, Various Locations

Slowly but surely, the Ruby Slipper has come to dominate brunch in New Orleans. With so many locations, it's hard not to. Plus, the food is awesome. There are some really special Benedict options, including this one that include cochon-de-lait.

2) Betsy’s, 2542 Canal St.

Betsy's is where I go when I am looking for a classic breakfast. There are some awesome choices available here and they have the old style corn beef hash that I love.

3) Press St. Station, 5 Press St.

When you want some fresh and delicious NOLA favorites coming from the heart, don't overlook this gem on NOCCA's campus. It's truly a community affair, a restaurant that supports NOCCA's operations. And truly the food is creative and super flavorful.

4) New Orleans Cake Cafe & Bakery, 2440 Chartres St.

When you want to connect and relax, this is an awesome place. What's great about this spot is the bakery addition...they truly have some epic cupcakes here. But the fried potato salad should never be missed!

5) Willa Jean, 611 O’Keefe Ave.

Willa Jean came on the scene a few years ago and hit the city by storm. They really know how to lay on the flavor and have a full selection of baked goods as well. You won't be disappointed--their shrimp and grits come in an cast iron skillet!

6) Atchafalaya Restaurant, 901 Louisiana Ave.

When you want brunch with royal treatment, go to Cafe Atchafalaya. They have an incredible bloody mary bar that includes some really delicious flavors. And this soft shell crab number is simply delicious.

7) Surrey’s Cafe & Juice Bar, 2 Locations on Magazine St.

If you've never had one of Surrey's juices...you are in for a treat. But it's their shrimp and grits that is really something special.

8) Horn’s, 1940 Dauphine St.

I love this Marigny spot. It's got lots of character and lots of flavor. This "Jewish Coonass" includes a latke--and it's amazing.

9) Elizabeth’s, 601 Gallier St.

We think you are going to love your brunch here. There's some amazing dishes with a lot of spice and creativity. Their praline bacon is legendary.

10) Biscuits & Buns on Banks St., 4337 Banks St.

Finally, this sleepy mid-city spot is really something special. You are going to want to go back for the chicken and waffles again and again.
