This brick-walled restaurant opened up in 1953, but the history of the building is much older.

The restaurant originally opened in the early 1900’s before closing down for some time. In the 1950’s, Al and Alzina Pierce moved to the city from South Louisiana and reopened the Bon Ton Cafe, and they've been a local favorite ever since.

The family owned and operated eatery continues the tradition of serving some of the finest Cajun and Creole cuisine in New Orleans using family recipes so good they keep locals coming back year after year.

Both their lunch and dinner menu are overflowing with fresh fish, shrimp, and oyster meals that will make you fall in love at first bite.

Lunch is served Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. 9 p.m. Reservations are strongly recommended if you’re planning to spend an evening at Bon Ton, because the dining room fills up quickly!

Jambalaya is great year-round, but there’s something special about enjoying this iconic dish when the weather dips just a little bit.

But it’s so good you’ll find yourself wanting to lick the plate when you’re done

The Crawfish Dinner will give you a sample of everything!

Served with a decadent whiskey sauce, it’s simply divine. Go ahead and splurge for a dollop of their butter pecan ice cream on top, you won’t regret it.
