Muriel's in New Orleans is considered the most haunted restaurant in Louisiana, with a rich history and ghostly presence.

When you're looking to explore the most haunted restaurant in Louisiana, it should come as no surprise that you find yourself in New Orleans. Truly one of the most haunted places in all of the United States, this restaurant has some stories that will definitely make your head spin! You'll find Muriel's at 801 Chartres St. in the French Quarter.

Muriel's on Jackson Square is a unique restaurant that was established in 2001.

But the building it is housed in is much older, dating back to the early 19th century.

From the beginning of this building's history, there are stories of ghosts swirling around.

The man who originally owned the land this building was built on was named Claude Trepagnier. The original carriageway that he built in the late 18th century is said to be haunted.

Later, the owner of this building was known as Jean Baptiste Destrehan, and he built a lovely mansion - but it was lost in the fire of 1788.

And it is the ghost of the man who rebuilt the building that is now haunting Muriel's today, Pierre Antoine Lepardi.

Muriel's Restaurant considers Mr. Jourdan a constant presence in the restaurant. It's believed that he spends the most time in the room pictured here, known as the seance room.

He's been witnessed as a glimmer of light, sparkly and flashing from area to area.

Guests at the restaurant have also witnessed objects mysteriously floating around the room and other unusual oddities.

The restaurant owners are convinced he still makes his home here.

This man is not known as the only ghost that might haunt this area.

But it certainly makes for an interesting meal - that might just keep you at the edge of your seat!
