Louisiana’s Hotel Bentley Is Full Of History, Mystery, And A Few Ghosts
Central Louisiana tends to get overlooked, and that’s a shame. Also known as the Crossroads, this region of Louisiana tends to be a nature lover’s dream, and it’s home to some of the oldest attractions in the state, like Natchitoches. Next time you find yourself in “CenLA,” be sure to book a stay at the Hotel Bentley, one of the oldest and most haunted hotels in Central Louisiana.

Built in 1907, the history behind this hotel is rather fascinating.

Legend has it that Bentley decided to build the hotel after being denied a stay at a nearby hotel.

He built a large apartment on one of the top floors and also had installed his own private elevator, both of which remain today. Bentley lived there until he passed away in 1938.

In the 100+ years that the hotel has been in operation, there have been countless paranormal encounters by both guests and employees.

And you might just have a paranormal experience of your own, whether you want to or not!

He has been known to favor the fifth floor, but employees in the restaurant below have seen him, as well as in the Mirror Bar.

Another spirit that has been seen by several people over the years is that of a young girl who fell to her death when she tripped down an elevator shaft. She is sometimes seen in random hallways when you step out of the elevator.

A man fell down the stairs in 1985 and is believed to still haunt the hotel, and several people have seen shadowy figures on the staircase and along the rails.
