It takes 50 lbs of onions, 75 bell peppers, 4 gallons of onion tops, 2 gallons of parsley, 1.5 gallons of cooking oil, 6.5 gallons of milk, 52 lbs of butter, 3 boxes of salt, 2 boxes of black pepper, 15 lbs of crawfish tails, and over 5,000 eggs to make this giant omelette.

The giant omelette is cooked over a wood fire in the middle of the street. Yep, that’s right! The fire will be lit around 11 a.m. so it can get nice and hot by the time they begin cooking the omelette, which happens around 1:30 p.m.

The omelette is free to anyone who attends the festival, so swing by and take a bite of one of the world’s biggest omelettes.
