Join 30,000 Other Louisianians At This Year’s Gigantic Renaissance Festival
Louisiana hosts hundreds of festivals throughout the year, but this one might be the most unique festival in the entire state. Every year, the Renaissance Festival creates the magical city of Albright for six consecutive weeks of 16th-century fun that you simply have to see to believe. Mark your calendars – this family-friendly festival kicks off on November 2, 2019, and it’s worth a road trip from any corner of the state.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

RenFest, as it’s more commonly known, is more than just a festival - it’s a theme park, theater, and shopping spot all rolled into one.

Each year, the festival creates the magical city of Albright, a 16-acre town filled with hundreds of booths for shopping, 12 stages for live performances, and multiple vendors selling food.

Although after you see some of the costumes, you may be inspired to pop into one of the clothing shops and get yourself a period-piece outfit to slip into!

Luckily, the festival runs for six consecutive weekends, so you can come back again and again.

It's not every day you get to see a real-life sword fight!

These educational demos cover everything from butter churning to blacksmithing.

Practice your aim at the archery range, take a pony ride, or discover a fun, new hobby. There's so much to do!

From giant turkey legs to Scotch eggs, there’s truly something for everyone’s palate here. Of course, you’ll also find some 21st-century grub like nachos, burgers, and hot dogs.
