You’ll find Eliza Restaurant & Bar in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

This charming little eatery is locally owned and operated by Sally and Russel Davis, who both come with impressive culinary backgrounds including Commander’s Palace and the McIlhenny Company, the makers of Tabasco.

Established in 2016, the restaurant was named after their daughter.

After years of working at the famous Commander’s Palace Restaurant and opening another restaurant in the Riverbend area of New Orleans, they decided to move back to their hometown and open their own restaurant together.

The contemporary Creole restaurant is bright and airy, making it the perfect spot for either lunch or dinner.

The restaurant is open six days a week, so you can always find a time to head on over for a delicious meal.

Whether you dine at Eliza for lunch or dinner, you're certainly in for a treat.

The menu features several Creole favorites you’re sure to love, as well as a few American staples like the cheeseburger, pictured above.

For starters, be sure to get a bowl of the Gumbo Ya-Ya.

Consistently voted a favorite by locals, you can’t pass up an opportunity to try this dark roux gumbo with roasted chicken and andouille sausage.

You’ll also find several po’boys and seafood dishes on the menu.

Red beans and rice, fried seafood platters, and crawfish étouffée all pepper the menu, making your decision on what to order rather difficult!

But the best hidden gem on the menu at Eliza Restaurant & Bar are the crab cakes.

One bite and you’ll become a customer for life.

These crab cakes are huge.

They are filled with jumbo lump crabmeat and served with a ravigote sauce, corn maque choux, and a hearty portion of hand-cut fries.

For more information, including a full menu, be sure to check out the Eliza website and follow along on the restaurant's Facebook page.
