Even as you drive up, you'll be dazzled by all the flowers in bloom.
This hidden gem has quite the history, too.
Sadly, a fire in 1963 destroyed the gothic antebellum mansion that once stood on the grounds, the gardens have been painstakingly restored to their days of glory.
During your visit, you’ll stroll through more than 20 acres of formal gardens including a daffodil valley, a formal parterre garden, and more.
The ruins gardens are a hauntingly beautiful reminder of the history of the place.
Depending on the time of year, you could see azaleas, tulips, camellias, wisteria, and countless other flowers in bloom.
It’s the perfect spot to sit for a spell and reflect.
Listening to the songbirds perched up above from underneath a canopy of oak trees sounds like a marvelous way to spend an afternoon, right?

Spring season began on March 1 and continues until June 30, so you've plenty of time to see all the gorgeous flowers in bloom.
Afton Villa Gardens is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Admission for adults is $5 and children under 12 are free.
