Kentucky is beautiful in the fall, and it’s also home to some of the most superior pumpkins patches across the country. Most of these are functional family farms that harvest the corn prior to creating a corn maze, and grow pumpkins to sell, bake, and offer loads of fun for visitors. Some have petting zoos, hay rides, and other fall flora and décor available. If you and the family are looking for the perfect pumpkin to decorate for the holiday, or cook with, here are the best pumpkin patches in Kentucky to visit this season:

As Linus once said, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” Each of these unique farms in Kentucky provides its own flavor… if you happen to be baking the pumpkin. They all have two things in common, and that’s loads of fun for families and friends, and a barrage of pumpkins.

What are the best fall festivals in Kentucky?

Level up your visit to the best pumpkin patches in Kentucky by adding an epic fall festival to the mix! While there are so many wonderful fall festivals in Kentucky, one of our favorites is the fest at Country Pumpkins. This is your quintessential fall festival experience, complete with hayrides, an amazing corn maze, U-pick pumpkins, friendly farm animals, and so much more!

We also absolutely adore Fall Fest at Neltner's Farm. This family-owned farm in Melbourne, Kentucky, is one of the most beautiful and picture-perfect farms in Kentucky, often rented out for weddings and other special events. During the fall, weekends at Neltner's are truly something special, with live music, amazing food, beautiful pumpkins, family-friendly activities, and the kind of Southern hospitality for which the Bluegrass State is so well known.

What's fall in Kentucky like?

While Kentucky is a proud Southern state, we definitely identify as somewhat "Northeastern" in terms of fall foliage! There's nothing like fall in Kentucky, and our warm days and crisp nights conspire to make for the most delightful and awe-inspiring fall colors. Daily highs in the 70s, and as we get into October, often the 60s, make for perfect fall festival going conditions. With big, blue skies and not a lot of precipitation, the fall hiking in Kentucky is particularly perfect, and we hurry out to hike as many of our favorite trails as possible before the cold weather creeps in!
