This Overnight Ghost Hunt in Iowa Is the Creepiest Thing You’ll Ever Do
For people who love paranormal attractions, this creepy location in the small town of Malvern is one they’ll want to explore.
This isn’t a seasonal attraction. Yes, it’s close to Halloween, but the owners of Malvern Manor run this haunted location year ‘round.
Malvern Manor is located at 103 E 3rd St., Malvern.
People who have spent the night in the house say that they can’t sleep.
They say that plaster pellets are dropped on command from some invisible entity. The attic is especially "active" according to people who’ve visited.
One visitor’s laptop was recording a video of the doorway, and upon reviewing the footage, the owner of the computer realized that the laptop was slowly moving away from the door.
Even visitors that choose to stay in the "safe zones" of the kitchen and living room have experiences that are unsettling.
Voice recorders regularly pick up singing and humming in one former resident’s room. Inez, the 12-year-old girl that died in the room is said to be quite peaceful, but also enjoys being visible.
People brave enough to spend the night in the house share their experiences, openly.
They say they’ve heard footsteps upstairs when no one was up there. Some say they heard yelling very clearly on multiple occasions while in the house.
Others say they saw shadow people and their companions agreed.
Malvern Manor’s history is fascinating.
The house was built in the late 1800s. It was a small family-owned hotel frequented by traveling salesmen. It was close to the railroad and became very popular.
When automobiles became a popular alternative to traveling by train, the hotel’s business dried up.
They closed and converted the building into a convalescent home and care facility.
Malvern Manor was home to alcoholics in treatment, people with severe mental health challenges, and those with wildly varying disabilities and disorders.
The story of this house during those years is sad. Both residents and staff reported neglect and abuse.
Paranormal investigators report interacting with a dark and inhuman presence that they believe is the manifestation of years of built-up negative energy.
TLC’s Paranormal Lockdown featured Malvern Manor on February 10, 2017. Hosts Nick Groff and Katrina Weidman spent 72 hours in the home.
